Why it is important to motivate your employee
As Presidents and CEOs of a company, we owe it our employees to train, educate and motivate them to gain the perspective and insight required to be the best they can be both inside and outside of the office. A key to creating a comfortable and productive working environment is discovering employee’s strengths and weaknesses. The right employee will seek higher education and participate in building the company’s vision?
But first we must start with ourselves.
How often are you reading a new book on leadership or business? When was the last time you listened to a CD on your way to work—something that inspired you to be a better person, a better leader?
Once you are engaged in your own learning take those lessons into action. Start with a small team of people you manage. Assign a book for the group to read and bring them back together in 3 weeks to review what their findings. Start your Friday morning with a 20-minute CD or DVD on a topic related to motivation or a particular learning.
If you make the time in your schedule to educate yourself, your employees will respond to your leadership and follow your footsteps. Time is the most important factor today with more to do and less people, however, by starting with this simple learning you will see the results will far out way the 20 minutes a week.
